Pi is a male mauve pied. I got Pi through an ad in the Recycler for a free budgie. How could I pass up a free budgie? Turns out they were giving him away because he had been territorial with their other budgie. I knew I could give Pi a good home, so I took him home with me. Pi was somewhat tame, and I would take him out, but he was very insistent on either being with himself in the mirror or flying over to the other budgies. He relished the couple of times he could sit by Buffy's cage and listen to him sing. He listened to Buffy intently and tried out singing himself. I could tell he just really wanted the companionship of the other budgies, so I put him in their cage together and watched him carefully to make sure his territorial behavior did not return. He got along really well and was so excited and happy to be with the others. He practices singing often and still loves to listen to Buffy's songs. When I do get Pi out of the cage he is pretty good, but he still likes to fly over to the mirror.
Pi is a very unusual pied. His markings are so unusual that I can't tell what kind of pied he is. Even his irises are pied, with areas of light and dark. This leads me to believe that he is some sort of mix of pieds.
