Mongo is a male dark green budgie. He is actually an exhibition-size budgie, although he's not quite show quality. Mongo was a budgie I bred a long time ago that my mom decided to keep as a pet along with another spangle female. Unfortunately, the female died of old age since exhibition budgies don't usually live very long. That's when I bought Rho to be Mongo's new friend. He hit it off right away with her and she chose him as her mate. Somehow Mongo is some kind of romeo, although he's kinda selfish and gets all the head scratches. Mongo didn't have a name for a long time, but my boyfriend started calling him Mongo recently because he's so big compared to the other budgies. Mongo is in a breeding cage with Rho, but he's not very good at mating and all the eggs are clear (infertile).
